"We are involved in the struggles to have our voices heard — our outsider voices. Even though our writing appears in the same anthology, please recognize that we are all very different. The themes and concerns of our writing are as varied as we are. It contains memoir, fiction, poetry."

— LaborFest Writers

"Having initiated the workers’ writing workshop that blossomed into the LaborFest Writers Group, I am in awe of its continuance and growth, now publishing a brilliant anthology of their work, giving voice to working class desires, woes, courage, and resistance while trapped in this merciless capitalist reality."

— Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, Historian  ·  Author, Loaded: A Disarming History of the Second Amendment

About the Group

The LaborFest Writers have been workshopping and publishing since 2005. We are rabble-rousers, activists, Marxists of one stripe or another, union members, immigrants, and native-born — outside the literary mainstream and proud of it. Our writing spans memoir, fiction, and poetry, all rooted in the lives and struggles of working people.
